The meetings are pretty relaxed, but we do have a bit of a structure so that everyone has the opportunity to speak and we finish on time.
Every now & then we may start a bit later to gain a quorum but we usually finish before 8.30am
There’s no ‘fixed meeting menu’. You get to choose something modest, or a mushroom medly with spinach and a soft poached egg on toasted bread. There are many options in between. The food is very reasonably priced – if you’re on a diet and you just want to order a delicious glass of tap water, that’s fine & it won’t cost anything!

We are a bit flexible with the format, but typically it runs along these lines:
The group director welcomes any guests.
Each person gives a short & succinct 30-second introduction explaining what it is they do in their business.
We usually have two designated speakers (members of the club) each week. Each talk for ten minutes on some aspect of their business. This has a few benefits – members get to hear about your business on a regular basis & in doing so, get to understand what sort of business referrals you are after. Speaking on a regular basis is also good for boosting your confidence and presentation skills.
PASSING OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES (’BizOps’)
Each of us talks briefly about referrals given & received.
Forth-coming Bi-Monthly Soirées (evening drinks), births, deaths & marriages...
CLOSING 20 SECONDS
This sometimes is just a repeat of the opening introduction. When we’re feeling creative, the closing is themed on a topical current event and provides you with the opportunity to present your business in a lateral way... eg How would you redirect a controversial topic to have context (humorous or otherwise) with your business.
HANG AROUND FOR MORE COFFEE
After the meeting is finished, many hang around to catch up, discuss specific business & chat further over coffee.
We have created our own on-line system which enables us to digitally pass & receive business opportunities (or ‘BizOpps’).
An email reminder is sent out each week prompting each member to think about & record the business opportunities they have passed to others.
This speeds up the referral process & creates a valuable database of contacts.
We usually hold these in the same café / restaurant where we meet. The Bi-Monthly Soirées are an opportunity to get to know each other better & a chance to introduce potential members. The next Soirée date is shown above. If you would like to come along, send us an email by clicking here.
